It is with great pleasure that today's premiere comes in the form of singer/songwriter Niv Ast’s ‘It Won’t Leave Me’ - an alluring cut plucked from the Tel Aviv-native’s upcoming Fearless Love Stories EP (which also features his groovy previous single 'One Time'). As Ast states of his new EP, it “deals with my daily encounters of breaking up - everything is fatal, everything is about to end, one must find the happiness of going away," and this sense of imprisonment and desire for escape can poignantly be felt on ‘It Won’t Leave Me’. It’s a brutally minimal track based around a simple circular groove of glacial synth swells and walking basslines, over which Ast hopelessly croons the claustrophobic and perpetually repeating titular lyric. While there is undeniably something forlorn, even wretched, about Ast’s offering, its abstract honesty is thoroughly refreshing. Indeed, a fearless story of lost love. - KJ
